After making a round at film festivals, Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders now has a release date. The Hansal Mehta directorial will hit theatres on September 13, the makers announced on Monday. The film also stars Ash Tandon, Keith Allen and chef Ranveer Brar.

The film was earlier screened at the BFI London Film Festival 2023 and the Jio MAMI Film Festival the same year.

The film’s production house Balaji Motion Pictures shared two posters from it with the caption, “We’re thrilled to announce that The Buckingham Murders is coming to theatres on 13th September 2024.”

The film tells a story of a detective, grieving over the murder of her child, tasked with solving the case of a missing kid. It is written by Aseem Arrora, Raghav Raj Kakker and Kashyap Kapoor.

Earlier, Kareena had shared in a post that she has been a huge fan of detective stories,“Jas was a character I have been waiting to play for the last 23 years, being a huge fan of the detective series genre… watching everything from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect to Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie to Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, I was just dying to be that detective woman.”
