Merry Christmas box office: The Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif starrer mints Rs 6 crore in two days

Sriram Raghavan’s romantic thriller Merry Christmas is going stable at the box office. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif-starrer has made Rs 6 crore in two days of its release.

The film made Rs 2.5 crore on Day 1. The collection rose to approximately Rs 3.5 crore on the second day. As per Sacnilk, the film reported an overall occupancy of 18% for the Hindi version, with night shows contributing to 22% occupancy. The Tamil version, which was produced to mitigate escalating costs, reported 26% overall occupancy on day two.

Before this Vijay played the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan which earned over Rs 600 crore in the domestic box office. Katrina, on the other hand, was part of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3which made over Rs 280 crore in India.

Merry Christmas is Sriram’s first film since 2018’s Andhadhun, starring Tabu and Ayushmann Khurrana. The film also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Ashwini Kalsekar, Radhika Apte and Vinay Pathak in pivotal roles.
