Merry Christmas, the recently released film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, hit the theatres on January 12. Since its release, the film has been receiving appreciation from all around the corner. Filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap recently applauded the film by penning a note on his social media handle. 

Taking to his Instagram, Anurag wrote, "Love this film .. Sriram Raghavan has never known to play safe and this time has gone a made hitchcockian love story with two actors belonging to different cultures and them coming together on Christmas Eve. He again does new things and creates a slow burn with a terrific payoff. Both Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi bring their best game to it. Also Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak and Ashwini. Do give it a shot. Matchbox Shots and RS Taurani, it's great to see you making this happen. And the cinephile in Sriram is as omnipresent in this as on his T-shirts and his life. 

Merry Christmas is shot in two languages, Tamil and Hindi, with different supporting actors. The Hindi version co-stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will also be seen in cameos.
