Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki crosses the 400 crore mark at box office

The makers of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki announced that the film crossed the Rs 400 crore mark in gross worldwide collection.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the comedy-drama opened to mixed reviews upon its release on December 21.

Red Chillies Entertainment, one of the production houses behind Dunki, shared that the movie has grossed Rs 400.40 crores worldwide.

Recently, director Rajkumar Hirani, speaking about the box office reception of the film, said, "Shah Rukh Khan is a very brave actor, he was very well aware that mass films are working well at the box office in the recent few years but still chose to do Dunki. And it's not about the box office collections every time, we wanted to provide a great social message and luckily we succeeded in this mission also the film is doing very well on the BO (box office), people are really liking and appreciating the film Dunki, I am very happy about it."

Dunki, fronted by Shah Rukh Khan, is based on the illegal migration of people who travel through the dangerous ‘donkey route’ in search of a better life.

Apart from SRK, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.
