Janhvi Kapoor has a busy film schedule this year. She is awaiting the release of Mr & Mrs Mahi and Ulajh. Recently, it was announced that she is going to collaborate with Varun Dhawan again for the Shashank Khaitan directorial Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Apart from this, Jahnvi is also going to make her south debut with the Telugu film Devara: Part 1, alongside Jr NTR.

Talking about the film in a recent interview, Janhvi said that she feels very happy to be a part of the film as it is “bringing her closer to her roots” and that she is learning Telugu for it. It is to be noted that Janhvi’s mother, late actor Sridevi, made her Telugu lead debut with N.T. Rama Rao, Jr NTR’s grandfather.

In Devara, Janhvi plays the female lead Thangam, while Saif Ali Khan essays the role of the film's principal antagonist named Bhaira. Devara marks the Telugu debut of both Janhvi and Saif. The film also stars Meka Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, and Narain. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara is produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Sudhakar Mikkilineni, and Kosaraju Harikrishna under the banner Yuvasudha Arts. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director for the film. It is scheduled to release on October 10.
