The trailer of Showtime, a new web series starring Emraan Hashmi, was released by the makers on Tuesday. The show also stars Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. It is created by Sumit Roy and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar. Mihir also serves as the showrunner for the series.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the world of the show, which is inspired by some inside tales of Bollywood. It uncovers the inner politics of the industry, where Emraan plays the role of a mighty producer who will stop at nothing to make big-budget successful films. Rajeev plays an actor who wants to stay relevant in the industry, and there is a scene towards the end of the trailer where Emraan’s character confronts him over his decision to be in a film. Mouni Roy plays an actor who faces some conflicts in the industry.

Showtime is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, a digital extension of Dharma Productions. It is scheduled to release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8.
