All India Rank Trailer: A coming-of-age story set in the backdrop of IIT coaching

The trailer of Varun Grover’s debut feature film, All India Rank was released on Monday. The film is presented by Sriram Raghavan and stars Bodhisattva Sharma, Samta Sudiksha, Shashi Bhushan, Geeta Agrawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Neeraj, Ayush Pandey, Saadat Khan in pivotal roles.

The trailer introduces us to Vivek Singh, a 17-year-old boy from Lucknow who is sent to Kota to prepare for the IIT entrance exams. Battling pressures from his family who expect big things from him, Vivek explores his own ambitions while living in the hostel with other aspirants. In a conversation with his father over a phone call, he says that he is studying as much as he can. To this, the father replies, “That’s not enough. You have to study to the human limits.”

The film’s trailer was presented by actor Vicky Kaushal who shared it on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “I am so happy and proud to be presenting the Trailer of All India Rank, the Directorial Debut of my dear and incredibly talented friend #VarunGrover.” Vicky had made his debut in Bollywood with the 2014 film Masaan that was written by Varun.

All India Rank had its world premiere at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in February 2023 where it was shown as the closing film. Since then, the film has been shown at MAMI Film Festival and Dharamshala International Film Festival where it was the opening film. It is Produced by MatchBox Shots and is set to hit the theatres on February 23.
