Poonam Pandey passes away after battle with cervical cancer

Actor and model Poonam Pandey has passed away due to cervical cancer, her team announced via an Instagram post on Friday. She was 32. Poonam acted in the lead role in the 2013 film Nasha which marked her Bollywood debut. She was also seen in Kannada and Telugu movies such as Love is Poison and Malini & Co.

Via Instagram stories on Friday, her team issued a statement which read, "This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared (sic)."

As per a report in India Today, when her manager was contacted she said, "She got detected with cancer sometime back and it was in the later stage. She was in UP her hometown, and the funeral will mostly happen there. We are yet to get more details."

Poonam was last seen in the reality show Lock Upp.
