The teaser of Vikramaditya Motwane’s prison-drama series Black Warrant was released by the makers on Thursday. The show, a dramatized adaptation of the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury, features Zahan Kapoor (Faraaz, 2022), Rahul Bhat (Kennedy, 2023), Sidhant Gupta (Jubilee, 2023), Paramvir Singh Cheema and Anurag Thakur, among others. The series has been co-created by Satyanshu Singh.

The teaser introduces us to Sunil Kumar Gupta (Zahan) who is a newly appointed jailer in Tihar jail. At his recruitment interview he is asked, “Why do you want to do this job?” to which he answers, “This job is one of the most important in society. This is an opportunity to do something for the nation.”

The jail seems to be an unforgiving place. In a scene blood splatters on Sunil’s face. Rahul Bhat is also seen in the teaser, in the role of an authoritative cop. We also get a glimpse of Sidhant Gupta.

The series has been directed by Vikramaditya and Satyanshu along with Ambiecka Pandit, Arkesh Ajay and Rohin Raveendran Nair.

Black Warrant is presented by Applause Entertainment and is produced under Vikramaditya’s home-banner Andolan in association with Confluence Media. It premieres on Netflix on January 10.
