Vishal Bhardwaj’s untitled action-thriller with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead is slated to release on December 5, 2025, the makers announced on Wednesday. The film is set to commence shoot from January 6 next year. It also stars Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles.

The makers took to X to make the announcement and wrote, “Sajid Nadiadwala presents a Vishal Bhardwaj film! A spectacular cinematic journey begins on 6th Jan 2025. Film releasing on 5th December 2025.”

According to reports, the film is a biopic on the life of gangster Hussain Ustara. The film was originally conceived as a biopic of gangster Sapna didi that would have seen Deepika Padukone in the titular role and the late Irrfan Khan in the role of Hussain. Later rumours stated that Kartik Aaryan was in talks to play the gangster, but now the character will be materialised by the performance of Vishal’s long-time collaborator Shahid.

The film marks Shahid’s reunion with the Haider (2014) director, seven years after Rangoon (2017).

Shahid was last seen earlier this year in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya alongside Kriti Sanon. He recently completed the shoot of Deva, his upcoming actioner which is set to release next year.
