New poster from Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Its trailer will be out on August 14. The film will mark Kangana's debut as a solo director and she also plays the titular role of ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She earlier co-directed the historical drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2020) along with Krish Jagarlamudi.
The film stars Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade and Vishak Nair. Noted writer Ritesh Shah has penned the screenplay and dialogues of the film.
The new poster features a superimposition of the Kangana, Anupam, Milind and Shreyas. Sharing the poster, Kangana wrote, “Witness the Darkest Times of Democratic Indian History & the lust For Power that almost burned down the Nation! Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency Trailer out on 14th August. The Explosive Saga of The Darkest Chapter of Indian Democracy Emergency Unfolds In cinemas worldwide on 6th September.”
Emergency is produced by Kangana Ranaut, Renu Pitti and Umesh KR Bansal.
The film’s release has been delayed multiple times before. It was earlier set to release in November last year but was delayed. Then, June 14 was set as the new release date which had to be postponed as well. It is now set to release on September 6.
