Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 commences shoot in the UK

The film is a sequel to Ajay’s 2012 comedy drama Son of Sardaar

Ajay Devgn took to social media on Tuesday to announce the commencement of shoot for Son Sardaar 2. It is a sequel to Ajay’s 2012 comedy drama, Son of Sardaar and is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. The film has an extensive shoot schedule in the UK, followed by India.

Sharing a video showing glimpses from the shoot, Ajay wrote, “The journey of Son Of Sardaar 2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team.”

The 2012 film was a remake of S.S. Rajamouli’s Telugu film Maryada Ramanna (2010) and told the story of Jaswinder, played by Ajay, who falls in love with Sukhmit, played by Sonakshi Sinha, which leads to an angry exchange between him and her family. It was directed by Ashwini Dhir and also starred Sanjay Dutt. The film was met with mixed reviews but it managed to fare well at the box-office, grossing over Rs 141 crore in India, according to Sacnilk.com.

Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Son of Sardaar 2 is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak.
