Akshay Kumar to make Telugu debut with Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa

Based on a true story, the film will follow the journey of Kannappa, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva

Akshay Kumar will soon be making his Telugu film debut. The actor has come on board the Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa, the makers announced on Tuesday.

Although details are still under wraps on the role Akshay will be playing in the film, Vishnu will be essaying the titular role of Kannappa.

Vishnu posted a video on Twitter in which he can be seen meeting Akshay. “The Kannappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the Superstar Mr. Akshay Kumar to the Telugu Film Industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!” he captioned the post.

Based on a true story, the film will follow the journey of Kannappa, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva.

The film also stars Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi. It is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Manchu’s banners AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. It will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English.

Akshay was last seen in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, alongside Tiger Shroff.
