Srikanth Trailer: Rajkummar Rao plays visually impaired industrialist in the biopic

The trailer of Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film Srikanth was released by the makers on Tuesday. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Jyotika, Sharad Kelkar, and Alaya F. It is based on the real-life story of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla.

The trailer opens up with an interaction between Srikanth, played by Rajkummar, and APJ Abdul Kalam, where he dreams of becoming the president of the country one day. It gives a glimpse into the struggles that Srikanth faces while taking admissions in college and how he files a petition in High Court against the education system for not letting him enrol as a science student. Jyotika plays the role of his teacher, while Sharad is his friend.

Srikanth is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. It will be released in theatres on May 10.
