Marching onto its undisputed triumph at the box office Shah Rukh Khan's recent blockbuster Jawan has crossed the 1000 crore mark at the box office.

Sharing the announcement on social media, Red Chillies Entertainment said that the action entertainer has earned Rs 1004.92 crore at the global box office.

Directed by Atlee, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Ridhi Dogra, among others. Deepika Padukone has a cameo appearance in the film.

The film, released in theatres on August 7, opened favourable to mixed reception. "The problem with Jawan isn't that it tries to cram in as many issues; it's that the film doesn't really seem to care… a lot like how it doesn't really seem to invest emotionally in its characters," reads an excerpt from the CE review of the film. 

A commercial action drama, Jawan features Khan as a father and son who team up to destroy the forces that plague society. Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music for the film. Jawan also features cinematography by GK Vishnu and editing by Ruben.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment production directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film was released worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
