Karan Johar's recent directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, has been selected at the  28th Busan International Film Festival for the Open Cinema Section. The makers of the film announced the news through their social media handles. The festival is scheduled to take place from October 4 to the 13th.

The film was released worldwide on July 28 to positive reviews and became a commercial success. 

Besides Ranveer and Alia, the film also stars veterans Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. Its supporting cast includes Tota Roy Choudhury, Anjali Anand, Churni Ganguly and Kshitee Jog, among others.

The film marks Karan's return to the director's chair after seven years. The story and screenplay of the film are penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy.
