The trailer of the road-trip film Dhak Dhak, starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi, was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Tarun Dudeja, the film has been produced by Taapsee Pannu’s Outsiders Films, in collaboration with Viacom18 Studios.

The trailer features Fatima Sana Shaikh as a travel vlogger. Ratna Pathak Shah plays an elderly woman who expresses her desire to Fatima to do a bike trip to Ladakh’s Khardung La, the world’s highest motorable road. As they strive to make the trip happen, along the way they meet Dia Mirza’s character, who is a Muslim homemaker but moonlights as a mechanic. Parallelly, there is also Sanjana Sanghi, who wants to go for one last adventure before getting married. The four women get on their bikes and embark on their journey, facing several hurdles along the way.

Speaking about the film, Taapsee had earlier said, “We have attempted to give audiences a visual experience that they have rarely seen on screen. Dhak Dhak narrates the story of four women who realise that freedom has to be owned and never given. Viacom18 Studios has been a crucial part of my journey in the film industry from Chashme BaddoorShabaash Mithu and now to Dhak Dhak. I am sure that this ride will be an enriching one.”

Dhak Dhak is slated to release on October 13.
