Shah Rukh Khan endorses new Parliament building: ‘Magnificent new home for people who uphold our constitution

Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter on Sunday to endorse the newly built Parliament House in New Delhi. “What a magnificent new home for the people who uphold our Constitution, represent every citizen of this great Nation and protect the diversity of her one People @narendramodi ji,” he tweeted along with a 1:48 minute video with his voiceover giving a tour of the Parliament building.

"A new Parliament building for a New India but with the age-old dream of Glory for India. Jai Hind! #MyParliamentMyPride,” the tweet further reads.

In the video, which has the Swades anthem 'Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera' playing in the background, Shah Rukh said, "It is said that Parliament is to the nation what the soul is to the body. My sincerest prayer is that the soul of our democracy remains robust in its new home and continues to foster liberty, fraternity and equality for ages to come."

He added, "May this new abode of democracy build a new age that is renowned for its scientific temper and empathy for all. A new Parliament for a New India. But with the same age-old dream. The glory of India. Of our nation. Jai Hind!"

Recently, Shah Rukh was in the news when his chats with former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zone chief Sameer Wankhede, after the arrest of the actor’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case, were shown in court. In the chats, the superstar was pleading with Wankhede to go easy on Aryan.  The former NCB Mumbai zone chief has been accused of demanding a Rs 25 crore bribe from SRK to release his son.
