Actor, producer, and writer Harman Baweja, forayed into the big screen with films like Love Story 2050 (2008) and What’s Your Raashee? (2009). Harman then took a step back from acting and ventured into writing and producing. The actor is now making his OTT debut with Hansal Mehta’s crime thriller series Scoop, based around the world of crime journalism, in which he will be essaying the role of senior cop Harshvardhan Shroff.
Shroff is a sharp-tongued and suave officer known for charming everyone, from journalists to politicians. His methods, however, can be questionable at times. When a journalist's murder shakes the city, he must navigate external pressure and inner demons to solve the case in record time.
Speaking about his role, Harman says, “Playing Harshvardhan Shroff in Scoop has been an incredible experience for me. The character is unlike any I have played before. It’s complex, it’s grey and it has a whole range of emotions. The character is nothing like who I am and that’s what made it extremely challenging,” he said.
“I have been focussed on writing and producing and was certainly not in a headspace to act anymore but you can’t say no to Hansal Mehta. Working with a director like him and sharing the screen with talented actors has been an extremely fulfilling experience for me. As an actor, it's always exciting to take on something new and push your boundaries,” he added.
Before Scoop, the actor was seen in Dishkiyaoon (2014) with Sunny Deol.
