Anurag Kashyap took to Instagram on Monday to share new stills from his upcoming crime thriller Kennedy. The film, which is India’s only selection to Cannes Film Festival this year, stars Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone.

The stills show Rahul as Kennedy, with a flowing beard, long hair and donning a black suit with a red tie. Sunny as Charlie, on the other hand, looks perturbed in a black sari.

“2 weeks to go! #Kennedy’s countdown to Cannes is on!” Anurag captioned the post.

Kennedy will be screened under the Midnight Screenings category at Cannes.

The film revolves around an insomniac ex-cop, Kennedy, who is assumedly dead but continues to operate for the corrupt system. Speaking about the film Rahul had said, “Kennedy is a character that both ripped me apart and stitched me back again.” He has previously worked with Anurag on Dobaaraa and Ugly. "I think that role in Dobaara did something which got Anurag thinking. He has a commendable perception and surely knows how to extract the best from actors,” he had added.

Anurag’s last theatrical release was Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat, an attempt at a Gen Z love story, starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. Before that, the director toyed with the sci-fi genre in Dobaaraa, led by Taapsee Pannu.
