Shantanu Maheshwari and Tanya Maniktala to star in Netflix’s Tooth Pari: When Love Bites

The series tells the love story of a vampire and a dentist

Netflix India on Monday announced a new romantic fantasy-thriller series called Tooth Pari: When Love Bites. The show will start streaming on the OTT platform from April 20.

The series stars Tanya Maniktala (A Suitable Boy, 2020) and Shantanu Maheshwari, who made his Hindi cinema debut with the Alia Bhatt-led Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). It is directed by Pratim Dasgupta and is set in Kolkata.

 In Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, Maniktala plays Rumi, a vampire, and Maheshwari essays the role of Roy, a human dentist.

“Rumi the vampire has broken one of her ‘fangs’ during a hunt. Roy, the fainthearted, boy-next-door ‘human’ dentist is confident he can fix it for her. Sparks fly, and one can’t miss this love story, however impossible it may seem,” read the synopsis issued by the streamer.

Produced by Endemol Shine India, the upcoming series also stars Sikander Kher, Adil Hussain, Revathy, Saswata Chatterjee and Tillotama Shome.
