The first look poster of the upcoming family drama series Barzakh, starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed in the lead roles was released at the ongoing Series Mania Festival at France's Lille, in which the film will also have its world premiere.

Directed by filmmaker Asim Abbasi, the series will part of India's showacase in the International Panorama where it will compete for best series, director, actress, actor, student jury and audience awards. Barzakh revolves around an elderly man search for love, as the theme of intergenerational trauma is explored between fathers and sons. Fawad Khan will play the role of a single father.

"Coinciding with our Series Mania premiere, our poster that we now reveal to the world offers an early glimpse into what can be expected from the series - abstract beauty and ambiguity that reflects the complexities in navigating human relationships in a post-modern world," said Sanam.

The series was shot in Karachi and Hunza Valley in Pakistan. Barzakh is produced by Waqas Hassan and Shailja Kejriwal.
