Guneet Monga returns to a rousing reception after Oscars win

IANS

Filmmaker Guneet Monga, whose production The Elephant Whisperers won at the 95th Academy Awards, returned to a rousing reception, holding the golden Oscar trophy, in Mumbai on Friday. Monga landed in Mumbai, shortly after 3 am, to huge screams of excitement.

However, she barely spoke and was hardly audible in the milieu and her security personnel bundled her into a waiting car within minutes. Though appearing tired after her long flight from Los Angeles, Monga managed to mumble a few bytes, blew kisses all around and kept up a steady grin while fielding media queries.

Subsequently, as the media kept wanting for more, she invited them to a nearby five-star hotel for a quick photo session and a brief tete-a-tete sportingly heeded the camera persons' requests for different poses with the glittering Oscar.

Apart from The Elephant WhisperersRRR song ‘Naatu Naatu’ too won an Oscar in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars.
