Amitabh Bachchan will headline director Ribhu Dasgupta’s next film, a courtroom drama-thriller titled Section 84. This will be the actor’s third collaboration with the director after the TV miniseries Yudh (2014) and Te3n (2016).

While the plot of the film is still under wraps, Section 84 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) talks about an act, if done by a person of an unsound mind, to not be considered as an offense.

Talking about the collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan, Ribhu shared, "I feel happy, blessed, and honoured to collaborate with sir again. Looking forward to it."

Vivek B. Agrawal, producer, Reliance Entertainment, said, “It’s an honour to have Mr. Bachchan on board in our next film and I'm thrilled to be starting this adventure with him and Ribhu in Section 84.”

Section 84 is presented by Reliance Entertainment in association with Jio Studios and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Film Hangar, and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai and Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye. He has also previously played a lawyer in the courtroom drama Pink (2016).
