Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s The Archies is just around the corner. Its new poster was revealed by its makers on Monday. The film will mark the debut of star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. It will be an official adaptation of the Archie Comics and will be a musical set in the 1960s.

The poster shows the actors dressed as their characters lounging on a sofa. While Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana plays Veronica, Khushi would be seen as the girl-next-door Betty, and Agastya plays the titular lead. Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda play the other gang members designed around Reggie, Jughead, Dilton and Ethel.

Earlier, talking about the film, Zoya had said, “This is a surreal experience since Archie Comics was a part of my childhood. It is super exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive.”

“We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India. It is based on a fictional hill town of Riverdale,” she had added. The Archies is written by Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, Reema Kagti and Zoya. It will soon be streaming on Netflix.
