Ahead of Adipurush's release on June 16, the makers conducted a grand promotional event on Tuesday in Tirupati. Speaking at the event, actor Kriti Sanon, who plays Janaki (Sita), said that she started her acting career in the Telugu film industry and she feels happy to have returned here after nine years with "my precious film and special character."

She said, "Very few actors get to play such characters so early in their careers. Thanks for all the love. I think this character chose me, and we all are blessed to be part of this film. Janaki chose me to play this character. This is beyond just a film," she added. Kriti also heaped praise on Prabhas and noted that no one can pull off the character Rama other than him. Directed by Om Raut, the film has Prabhas as Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan.

Though originally a Hindi language film, Adipurush, which tells the epic saga of Ramayana, will be released in all major South Indian languages. Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series with Om Raut's home production Retrophiles. While Karthik Palani is the cinematographer, the edit is done by Apurva Motiwale, Sahai, and Ashish Mhatre.
