The second single, Khairiyat, from Sunny Deol headliner Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, was released on Tuesday. Composed by Mithoon, with the lyrics of Sayeed Quadri, Mithoon also lent his voice to the song along with Arijit Singh. The song captures the moving bond between a father and son, portrayed by Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma, respectively.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Anil Sharma, who directed the original, is also helming the sequel. While Sunny Deol will resume his role of Tara Singh in the film, Ameesha Patel will return as Sakina. The makers earlier released the teaser and reprised version of the song Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava.  

Gadar was loosely based on the tragic love story between British Indian Army World War II veteran Boota Singh and a young Muslim woman named Zainab against the backdrop of the Partition. The sequel will also feature director Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma, who appeared in the first part as Tara and Sakina's child Jeete.

Apart from the leading duo, the film also stars an ensemble cast including Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Luv Sinha and Simratt Kaur Randhawa.

The film will hit the screens on August 11, 2023.
