Manoj Muntashir Shukla, the dialogue writer of the recently released film Adipurush, has apologised for hurting the sentiments of the people after the film was criticised for its pedestrian language.

Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, the film is an adaptation of Hindu myth Ramayana. The film is directed by Om Raut.

On Saturday, the dialogue writer who wrote the Hindi version said he accepts that Adipurush has hurt people's sentiments. "I accept that people's emotions have been hurt by 'Adipurush'. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apology," Shukla wrote on Twitter.

Adipurush released in June in various languages including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil/ The film met with negative criticism and was produced by T-Series. The film was also banned in Nepal over its dialogue referring to Sita as India's daughter.
