Fathers are on sale. At least as per the trailer of Genelia Deshmukh and Manav Kaul’s upcoming comedy Trial Period, the trailer of which was unveiled today. Written and directed by Aleya Sen (producer: Badhaai Ho and director: Dil Juunglee, 2018), the absurdist comedy also features Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chadda, Gajraj Rao and Zidane Braz in significant roles.

The trailer opens with a TV commercial declaring that all their products come with a 30-day trial period. A young boy sees the ad and asks his single mother (Genelia D’ Souza) for a “new father.” Strangely, nobody seems to bat an eye and Genelia goes on to find the dad. With some help from Gajraj Rao, she gets one. Enter Manav Kaul, with an uncle stash. The rest of the trailer shows the comic situations this new dad finds himself into.

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Hemant Bhandari, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and Aleya Sen under Jio Studios and Chrome Pictures. Trial Period is slated to release on JioCinema on July 21.
