The trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the upcoming Hindi film starring actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, was released by the makers on social media on Tuesday.

The film is set to hit the big screens on July 28.

The three-minute long trailer shows how the titular characters Rocky and Rani fall in love, with a dash of quirkiness, romance and typical of Karan Johar's style of filmmaking of music and dance. As they decide to introduce their relationship to their respective families, the couple decides to live in each other's house to coax and convince them. The rest of the trailer shows how they spend three months in each other's residence as they cope and fight for their love and acceptance.

Directed by Karan Johar, the film also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, among others. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marks Karan’s return to the director’s chair after seven years. Although he directed shorts in Netflix anthologies Lust Stories and Ghost Stories, the last feature film helmed by him was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).

The story and screenplay of the film is penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, with music by Pritam.
