The motion poster of Sushmita Sen starrer Taali was released by the makers on Friday. In the series, Sushmita will essay the role of transgender activist Gauri Sawant.

The video shows gender tick boxes which read male and female. Then a third one appears which states transgender and is marked with a red bindi. We see a close-up of Sushmita’s forehead and her determined eyes. “Main tali bajati nahi bajwati hoon (I don’t clap, they clap for me),” she says in a voiceover.

The video is captioned, “Laakh gira de bijli mujhpe, mai toh satrang banu (You hit me with lightning, I will shine like a rainbow) #HappyPride.”

A few months ago, Sushmita took to her Instagram handle and dropped a video announcing that she has wrapped the shoot of the series. Thanking the director, the actor had said, “Thank you @ravijadhavofficial for being one of the calmest & most Humane Directors I’ve ever worked with…the direction team led by Amol…gratitude.”

The series is directed by Ravi Jadhav and although its release date is under wraps it will stream on JioCinema.
