Sunny Deol's Gadar 2: The Katha Continues to release on this date; First look out

The film’s prequel will also re-release in theatres

The first poster of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2: The Katha Continues was unveiled today. The film is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. In the poster Sunny can be seen reprising his role as Tara Singh. He is holding a hammer and looking intense. “Hindustan Zindabad,” is written on the poster in Hindi. Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma who also helmed the prequel.

The film is slated to release on August 11, 2023.

Talking about the first poster launch, director and producer Anil Sharma said: "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha isn't just my film but it's a people's film that dynamically shifted the paradigm of the Indian film industry. It went on to become a cult icon wherein people breathed Tara Singh and Sakina's love story. We are absolutely thrilled to launch the first poster.”

Adding to it, Sunny said, “Gadar - Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh went on to become a cult icon. Collaborating with the team after 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”

As per previous reports, Gadar will re-release in theatres ahead of the sequel. The film will hit the theatres on June 11, on the same date it did 22 years ago. The film also stars Ameesha Patel.
