Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti announce release date for The Archies

The film stars Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Kushi Kapoor, among others

Filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti announced the release of their upcoming Netflix film The Archies on Tuesday.

The film, which has an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda (as Archie Andrews), Sridevi's daughter Kushi Kapoor (Betty Cooper), Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan (Veronica Lodge), Dot (Ethell Muggs), Mihir Ahuja (Jughead Jones), Vedang Raina and Yuvaraj Menda as Reggie Mantle and Dilton Doiley, respectively, will be releasing on Netflix on December 7.

Sharing a new poster of the film on Instagram, Zoya made the announcement and wrote, “My Moovy My Groovy. The Archies arrive on December 7th #100DaysToGo.”

Reema also shared the poster and wrote, “Humari kahaani ka countdown shuru ho chuka hai! 100 days till you meet The Archies.”

The Archies is written by Reema Kagti, Zoya, and Ayesha Devitre. The film is described as "a musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves and everything young-adult, still promises to have something for every generation." It is expected to be set in the 1960s.
