With Akshay Kumar's latest, OMG 2, making all the right noises with the critics and the audience, the makers have released the star's favourite track from the album. 

Titled Mahadeva, the song is picturised on Akshay, who is completely smeared in vibhuti (sacred ash), and dances to the tunes he plays in the damru. We also see his various avatars and his interactions with Pankaj Tripathi's Kanti, and his family.

The sequel to the 2012 OMG featuring Akshay and Paresh Rawal, OMG 2 stars Akshay and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles, and takes up the rather pertinent topic of sex education in India, and weaves an engaging and educative tale. If OMG featured Akshay as Lord Krishna, the sequel has the actor playing the role of Lord Mahakaal. Incidentally, the sequel ran into hot water for its 'controversial' storyline that espoused the need for children to be taught sex education in the school. 

Sharing the song on social media, Akshay wrote, “And it’s time for my favourite track. Let’s go #Mahadeva, Mahadeva, Mahadeva!!! Song out now. #OMG2 #OMG2InCinemasNow.”

Sung by Kashh, who has also written and composed the track, Mahadeva is the fifth song from OMG 2 to be released. 

Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 stars an ensemble including the likes of Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, Govind Namdev, and Pawan Malhotra. The film hit the theatres on August 11 alongside Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, and Rajiniknath's Jailer.
