On Monday, Disney+ Hotstar announced that Neeraj Pandey's web series, The Freelancer, is all set to premiere on the streaming platform on September 1. The series stars Mohit Raina, Anupam Kher and Kashmira in prominent roles. 

The streaming platform made the announcement along with a small video. The video shows the behind-the-scenes of how the web series was shot. Bhav Dhulia has directed the upcoming series. Mohit Raina plays the role of the freelancer while Anupam Kher plays an analyst. 

The series is based on the book, A Ticket To Syria, written by Shirish Thorat. Produced by Friday Storytellers, the series is a high-scale thriller that will follow the rescue of a young girl who is being held against her will in war-torn Syria. Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji and Navneet Malik are also a part of the cast of The Freelancer.
