The trailer of Nushrratt Bharuccha's Akelli was released by the makers on Friday. The film is helmed by debutant Pranay Mishra, who has previously worked as an assistant director for films like Queen (2013) and Commando 3 (2019). 

Set in Iraq, the trailer of Akelli shows Nushrratt as an Indian girl who goes to the middle-Eastern country for work. A commoner, Nushrratt gets caught in Iraq which becomes a war-torn land in 2014. How she fights her way out and survives forms the rest of the story.  

Apart from Nushrratt, Akelli also stars Nishant Dahiya, Tsahi Halevi, Amir Boutrous, Piloo Vidyarthi, Mannat Duggal, Kuljeet Singh, Rajesh Jais, and Shivani Sopori. The film is produced by Dashami Studioz’ Nitin Vaidya, Ninad Vaidya, and Aparna Padgaonkar along with Vicky Sidana & Shashant Shah.

The technical crew of the film comprises DOP Pushkar Singh, editor Sumeet Kotian and theme music by Rohit Kulkarni. Akelli is all set to hit theatres on August 18.
