The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer Dream Girl 2 was unveiled today. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film is a sequel to the 2019 comedy Dream Girl.

The trailer shows Ayushmann reprising his role as Karamveer Singh aka Pooja and Annu Kapoor returns as his father Jagjeet Singh. Karam is still using his androgynous voice to lure men over the phone but it isn’t enough to pay bills. The father-son duo are under debt. Karam is also in love with Pari (Ananya Panday) but her father wants him to be settled first. He gives Karam an ultimatum: Rs 25 lakh in the bank in six months and he can marry his daughter.

Karam does what he does best. He cross-dresses as Pooja and becomes a courtesan. Things go awry after Abhijeet Banerjee’s character falls in love with him and wants to marry him. The trailer promises a lot of comedy of errors and one-liners that have become a Raaj Shandilyaa signature.

Here's the trailer:

Dream Girl 2 has been a joyride from the beginning. The script is hilarious, and I'm elated to bring laughter and entertainment in the lives of our fans once again,” said Ayushmann, describing the film.

Ananya Panday also shared her thoughts on the project, saying, "Working on Dream Girl 2 was an absolute blast, and I can't wait for the audience to witness the fun we had while filming this comedy extravaganza."

The film also stars an ensemble cast of Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi and Manjot. It will be released in theatres on August 25.
