Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Afwaah gets a new release date

Sudhir Mishra’s Afwaah, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar, has a new release date. The film which was earlier supposed to release on February 24, will now be dropping in theatres on May 5.

Director Sudhir Mishra, while replying to a tweet celebrating 20 years of Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, announced the release date of his next. “And now Afwaah! Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Bhumi Pednekar. Releasing on 5th May! 5th May! 5th May!” he wrote.

Afwaah also features Sharib Hashmi, Sumit Kaul, Sumeet Vyas, Rockey Raina, and TJ Bhanu. The film, shot in 2022, is jointly produced by T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks. Sudhir and Nawazuddin had previously collaborated on the Mumbai-set satirical drama Serious Men (2020).

Earlier, expanding on the film's concept, Sudhir had said in a statement, “Afwaah is a thriller which speaks of a very important message in the current times. The super-talented combo of Bhumi and Nawaz have given their best to this unconventional story and I am sure the audience is going to love watching them on the big screen.” 

Sudhir has recently been very active on OTT directing shows like Hostages (2019) and Tanaav (2022). He has also served as a showrunner on Jehanabad—Of Love & War (2023).
