CE Features

Actor Sarathkumar will be making his Hindi debut with the remake of Soorarai Pottru. The Hindi adaptation has Akshay Kumar reprising the role of Suriya and Radhika Madan playing the role of Aparna Balamurali. The yet-to-be-titled film is directed by Sudha Kongara, who helmed the Tamil version.

Meanwhile, Sarathkumar, who has worked in more than 130 films spanning Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages, is said to play a cameo role in the Hindi adaptation of Soorarai Pottru. However, the makers have not revealed any details about the same. The anticipation for the Hindi adaption has increased after the original won top honours at the 68th National Films Awards. Interestingly, Suriya is bankrolling the Hindi remake along with Jyotika under their banner 2D Entertainment and the Bollywood film house Abundantia Entertainment.

On the other hand, Sarathkumar will be next seen in Ponniyin Selvan. In a recent media interaction, the actor confirmed that he is working on a sequel to his 1997 box-off hit Suryavamsam and is in talks with director Gautham Vasudev Menon for a future project.
