We had recently reported about Alia Bhatt being felicitated with the  Smita Patil Memorial Award. Established in 1986 by the Priyadarshni Academy in memory of legendary actor Smita Patil, the Smita Patil Memorial Award is awarded to an Indian actress for her contribution to Indian cinema in the period before the ceremony, irrespective of a particular performance.

Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share her excitement on being honoured with the prestigious award. Along with sharing the certificate of honour, she wrote, "Grateful and honoured to receive the Smita Patil Memorial Award. Thank You to everyone."

Taapsee Pannu was the last actor to be feted with the Smita Patil Memorial Award.
