Day 3: Brahmastra crosses Rs 100 crores at the India box office, trade hails 'fabulous' weekend

Globally, the film has earned around Rs 250 crores at the end of its first weekend

Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra has surpassed the Rs 100-crore mark at the India box office. Globally, the film grossed Rs.225 crore at the end of its first weekend. 

Brahmastra is a superhero fantasy film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. Despite mixed reviews, the film opened to Rs 75 crore globally on Day 1. It went up to Rs 160 crores on Day 2 and has now reached Rs 225 crores on Day 3 internationally, reports state.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Brahmastra's India weekend business could be higher than Rs 108 crores.

Official figures for the Day 3 collections are awaited from the makers. The film is being hailed for ending Bollywood's dry spell, marked by successive flops and dipping footfalls in theatres.
