Netflix released the trailer of Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega on Thursday. The series, based on the phishing scams in Jharkhand, stars Sparsh Srivastav, Monika Panwar and Amit Sial in titular roles.
The trailer opens with a voice-over which states “earlier there were dacoits… then there was Chambal and now Jamtara.” There are hints of a big scam operating in the town. Seema Pahwa is introduced as Ganga Devi, a politician. She is helping Monika Panwar’s Gudiya Mondol contest against Amit Sial’s Brajesh Ban in the elections. Sparsh Srivastava’s Sunny seems to have survived the attack in the season 1 finale. He is running “India’s biggest scam” from a hospital bed. The new season promises gun-fights, betrayals and a lot of drama.
The series also stars Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Anshumaan Pushkar and Aksha Pardasany. The series is produced by Viacom18 Studios’ Tipping Point. Season 2 is directed by National Award winning director, Soumendra Padhi and written by Trishant Srivastava. It is set to launch on Netflix on September 23.
