The first look of Ajay Devgn’s character Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam 2 has been released online. The poster shows the patriarch of the Salgaonkar family looking grim with a shovel in hand as dark clouds hover above him. 

The character posters for Akshaye Khanna and Tabu’s characters in the film were also revealed recently. The sequel brings back the principal cast from the original film. Apart from Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead, the cast of the film also includes Shriya Saran, Akshaye Khanna, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Rajat Kapoor.

The original film, which was released in 2015 was a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, which was released in 2013. The upcoming sequel will also be a remake of the Malayalam sequel.

Akshaye Khanna is a new addition to the Drishyam franchise, details regarding his role in the film have not been revealed yet. Abhishek Pathak, who directed the original film, returns to direct the sequel. While the story is written by Jeethu Joseph, the creator of the original Malayalam film, the screenplay for the Hindi adaptation has been written by Abhishek Pathak and Aamil Keeyan Khan.

The film is currently scheduled to hit theatres on 18 November 2022.
