Yaariyan 2 will release in theatres on May 13, 2022, the makers announced on Wednesday. 

The sequel to the 2014 film Yaariyan, the film features Divya Khosla Kumar along with Meezan Jafri, Pearl V Puri, Priya Varrier, Warina Hussain, Yash Das Gupta and Anaswara Rajan.

Divya, who had directed the first installment of the college romance, is appearing this time in a starring role. The sequel has been directed by the duo of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The release date announcement was made today with a motion poster, featuring songs from the original film and introducing the cast of the second installment. 

"Finding friendship in family and family in friends! Coming back to you, is the beautiful story of #Yaariyan2," Divya wrote sharing the motion posted on Instagram. 

Divya Khosla Kumar has appeared in films like Satyameva Jayate 2 and Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. Besides Yaariyan, she had also directed Sanam Re starring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela.

Yaariyan 2 is produced by T-Series and Rao & Sapru Films.
