Vivek Agnihotri announced recently that he will release a follow up to The Kashmir Filestitled The Kashmir Files: UnreportedThe filmmaker made the announcement while giving interview to a news channel, a day after Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid called The Kashmir Files a “propaganda, vulgar film.”

While speaking to AajTak, Vivek said, "I am determined now and I am making an announcement through your channel. We have many stories, anecdotes from which we could have made 10 films instead of one. I wanted to make only one film then. But now, I have decided that I will bring out the whole truth through The Kashmir Files Unreported."

However, Vivek didn’t reveal if it is going to be a film, a web series or a documentary.

Referring to Nadav’s remark on his movie, Vivek said, "If any intelligent person or great filmmaker can prove that any shot or dialogue in The Kashmir Files is not true, I will stop making films. Till the time no one proves me wrong, I am here to tell stories and make films."

The Israeli filmmaker’s comments against The Kashmir Files at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has stirred up a controversy. The film’s cast, including Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar and Anupam Kher have criticised Nadav for his remarks.

The Kashmir Files, despite receiving poor reviews, was lauded by the ruling party and was one of the biggest hits of 2022.
