Actor Radhika Madan has started filming for her upcoming social thriller, Happy Teachers' Day

The actor took to social media to share this update by sharing a picture from the sets with the caption, "Back to School. #HAPPYTEACHERSDAY #DAY1."

Also starring Nimrat Kaur, Happy Teachers' Day is helmed by Mikhil Musale, known for the National Award-winning Gujarati film Wrong Side Raju and the Hindi movie Made in China.

Apart from directing, Musale has also co-written the story and screenplay with Parinda Joshi. Other writers on the team include Anu Singh Chaudhary and Kshitij Patwardhan who are credited with additional screenplay and dialogues.

Earlier, announcing the launch of the film, the makers shared a video hinting that the film is about the social perception of teachers. As the camera glides over a classroom, we see angry Twitter reactions demanding the sacking of a teacher. "Is this what our children will learn?" reads one. "Obscene. Shameful. Unacceptable," reads another. While the short clip begins by highlighting the fact that teachers educate, enlighten, empower, and shape our lives, it ends on a questioning note — "But can’t they have a life?"

Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Happy Teachers' Day is slated to be released on September 5, 2023

Known for her films like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Angrezi Medium, Radhika also has Sanaa and the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru in various stages of production.
