After Pakistani politician and singer-songwriter Abrar-ul-Haq accused director-producer Karan Johar of stealing the song 'Nach Punjaban' in the upcoming film Jugjugg Jeeyomusic company T Series, the label behind the song, has replied to the accusation. The company has stated that they "legally acquired" the rights to the song 'Nach Punjaban' from the album of the same name which was released on January 1, 2002.

"The song is available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel, owned by Moviebox Records Label, for the film Jugjugg Jeeyo produced by Dharma Productions. As represented by Moviebox Records Label the said copyrights exclusively vest with Moviebox only with all valid documents," reads a statement by T Series.

Earlier, Abrar in a tweet had stated that he has not sold his song 'Nach Punjaban' to any Indian movie and that a producer like Karan Johar should "not use copy song." He also said that he has not licensed the song to anyone and if somebody claims they should produce the agreement, otherwise he would take legal action. "This is my sixth song being copied," he added.

Jugjugg Jeeyo's trailer was recently released and the song features in it. The film, directed by Raj Mehta, stars Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor in key roles. It is slated to release on June 24.
