The Indian pavilion was inaugurated at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday. The occasion was graced by Rajasthani singer Mame Khan's song 'Ghoomar'. The cherry on top was actors Deepika Padukone, Urvashi Rautela, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Pooja Hegde shaking a leg on the track.

In a video, the actors can be seen dancing while Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Central Bureau of Film certification (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi are applauding them.

India has been selected as the Country of Honour at 2022 Marche du Film (Cannes Film Market) this year. During the inauguration of the India pavilion, Deepika, who is a jury member at Cannes, said she feels proud to represent her country on the global stage and that one day the film festival would be held in India.

"We have the talent, we have the ability, we just need that conviction. I truly believe there will come a day when India won't be at Cannes, Cannes would be at India," she said.

Other Indian celebrities like Shekhar Kapur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also attended the film gala. R Madhavan is also present at the event where his film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be screened. AR Rahman's debut directorial Le Musk will also premiere at Cannes.
