Wakaoo Films bags Rocky Hindi remake rights

The Hindi remake rights of Arun Matheswaran's critically acclaimed film Rocky have been acquired by Wakaoo Films.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Rowdy Pictures, the production house of which presented the film, said, "This is happening! We are very happy to share that the Hindi remake rights of Rocky have been acquired by Wakaoo Films."

Rocky has Taramani-fame Vasanth Ravi and Bharathirajaa in the lead roles. The film, which follows the titular character (played by Vasanth Ravi) on a killing spree after men who hurt his dear ones, was lauded for its cinematography, performance, unbridled portrayal of violence, and philosophical undercurrents.

Arun Matheswaran, meanwhile is busy with his sophomore film, Saani Kayidham starring Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan in the lead roles. The film is reportedly gearing up for a direct digitaal release on Amazon Prime Video. The director has also committed a film with Dhanush next.
