Vasan Bala's film premiered at the Midnight Madness section of the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and later opened in India in 2019

Vasan Bala's Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota has completed three years. Set in Mumbai, the action-comedy followed the adventures of Soorya (Abhimanyu Dassani), a Matunga boy whose congenital insensitive to pain helps him become a local superhero. The critically-lauded film also featured Radhika Madan and Gulshan Devaiah.

Celebrating three years of his debut, Abhimanyu shared a throwback image from the film. Over the years, his line from the film, 'Pani peete rehna chahiye', has become a catchphrase. Abhimanyu had won the Best New Young Actor at International Film Festival and Awards Macao for Mard. He also won Filmfare and IFFA awards for Best Debut and Most Promising Actor respectively.

"3 years of MardKoDardNahiHota
#ForeverGrateful
#PaaniTohPeeteRehnaChahiye," Abhimanyu wrote. Vasan also shared a post by RSVP Movies on Instagram stories.

Abhimanyu was last in Meenakshi Sundareshwar, marking his digital debut on Netflix. His forthcoming films are Nikamma and Aankh Micholi. Vasan is presently directing Monica, O My Darling.
